2013年世界劇場設計展「最佳互動與新媒體」大獎得主

 

國立臺北藝術大學戲劇學系畢業,主修導演;英國中央聖馬丁藝術暨設計學院劇場與多媒體碩士。創作以影像與劇場為核心,作品曾多次入圍台北電影獎及參與國際影展。2013年以劇場作品《空的記憶》獲世界劇場設計展「最佳互動與新媒體」大獎。

 

2010年創立狠主流多媒體,期許能全方位的遊走在各創作領域,帶給觀者更多的想像空間與情感共鳴。在創作之外,周東彥連續三年執行數位表演藝術節幕後紀實影片及【跨域控】專書編輯,並統籌青年跨界創作者聯繫網絡籌辦相關聚會及議題討論,致力於台灣數位表演藝術推廣與教育。

由周東彥創立,以影像創作為核心,延伸出多元的設計與藝術創作相關製作;服務內容包括展演多媒體設計、數位表演藝術企劃以及影片製作等。期許在創作的實踐上,超越主流與非主流、文化與商業、藝術與娛樂的界限,讓「主流」可不斷再度被定義與挑戰。

Tung-Yen Chou is the founder of Very Mainstream Studio. He is a graduate of Taipei National University of the Arts in Theatre Arts, and later attained a MA in Scenography at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in the United Kingdom. He works primarily in video art and theatre, and has been on the shortlist of Taipei Film Festival for several times.

 

Chou has received raving reviews for his works in recent years. And his production, Emptied Memories, won the Interactive and New Media Award at World Stage Design 2013.

 

Transforming his enthusiasm in video and theater to practice, Chou founded “Very Mainstream Studio” in 2010. Besides working on art creations, Chou has also produced the documentary of Digital Performing Arts Festival and edited the book “Crossmania: Digital Performing Arts Festival”. He also devotes to education of digital performing arts in Taiwan.
