Internationally acclaimed Japanese theatre director, Yukio Ninagawa, challenged Hamlet for the 8th time, a record of unparalleled devotion to the material on the world stage. 
Ninagawa is most renowned for his Shakespeare adaptions, which aims at “the touch of Japan” within the context of cultural collision. 

The production this time is set at the end of the 19th century when the Shakespearean tragedy was staged in Japan for the first time. Leading actors Tatsuya Fujiwara and Mikijiro Hira, and actress Ran Ohtori tell the audience about the production, their long-time collaboration with Ninagawa, as well as the inspiration and energy they’ve received from his works.
